Can beginners join the studio?

Yes! Brooklyn Baton Studio Recreational Programs and classes are designed for beginners and students with little or no previous baton twirling experience. Students enrolled in our Competitive Program may be placed according to their skill level.

Do you offer private instruction?

Yes, private instruction is available at Brooklyn Baton Studio and can be booked on the Parent Portal under the Quick Links menu. It can be a good fit for students looking for more focused, individual attention.

Do I have to compete in competitions?

Accepted Answer

No. While competitions are not required, they are highly recommended to our Competitive Program athletes to build and evaluate skills, and obtain constructive criticism. Our Recreational Program does not include competitions, though athletes receiving private instruction may opt to compete with Brooklyn Baton Studio. Please check in with our staff to determine which organization and events best suite you or your athlete.

What do I wear to class?

Please refer to the Brooklyn Baton Studio Code of Conduct for specific attire requirements. In general, athletic wear and secure footwear are a must! Also be sure to bring a full water bottle, and a SMILE! 😀

Question 6

Do I need my own baton?

Accepted Answer

Not necessarily. Brooklyn Baton Studio offers first-come, first-serve batons at 18, 24, and 29 inches for our trial and drop-in classes. Individual batons are required for competitive and recreational programs and can be ordered through the Parent Portal or by contacting us.
